A closer look at Netbooks & Smartbooks and their challenges with performance, memory upgrades and other concerns.

As computers grow smaller, netbooks are slowly taking over the PC industry. Due to their incredibly mobility, size to weight ration, rather large harddrives and overall comfortable handling, NetBooks and Smartbooks are the preferred choice of may who are replacing their desktop and/or laptop pc.

Unfortunately, with smaller size come restrictions. Obviously, the sceen is smaller, which may require the use of the touchpad more freuqently to navigate through full websites, as they may extend past the screen size of your netbook.

Compared to laptops, the netbooks usually work with smaller screen resolution, which causes the above described effect.

Some may also experience challenges with the size of the keyboard and overall performance.

While you can't do anything about the size of your newly acquired PC, even the screen resolution can only be adjusted so much, the main concern you can quickly resolve is the oftentimes sluggish performance of your Netbook.

A simple Memory (RAM) upgrade will oftentimes remedy the otherwise slow performance and open up a whole new world of possibilities for your Netbook.

Luckily, PC memory has become rather affordable these days. I have seen 1gb Memory Sticks for under $20 at many online retailers, some are referenced to the side of this article.
